Incarnation
When an animal dies and its flesh is gone, its spirit remains. I see these spirits as beautifully choreographed dances of insects representing animals that have died. Part of the cycle of life is that the dead provides nourishment to the living.
On the most basic level of nature, bugs and insects help out by cleaning carcasses and aiding in the decomposition of dead animals. While these animals may no longer be walking or flying, bugs and insects bring life back into their spirits. Eventually, even these bugs will be eaten by more animals and continue the cycle of life and reincarnation.
Incarnation was hand silk-screen printed in limited editions on white cotton rag paper as well as mono-printed on 3/4″ birch plywood.
