Valentina Black is a Baltimore based candle maker. To help launch her collection of scents, we art directed and shot a set of images that that conveyed the spirit of the Valentina Black brand as well as the inspiration behind each scent.

Inspired by travel and nostalgia, Valentina hand crafted each scent to help transport you to a relaxing escape from your 9 to 5, if only for a few brief moments at the end of the day. The scents are soft and relaxing with a little hint of sugar and spice.

Blue Grotto, Limoncello, Fleur De Lis, Biscotti, and Venetian are some of the scents that Valentina whipped up. Each candle is hand poured soy wax, into distressed wide mouth mason jars.

The jars have a slightly unique texture from being painted and then sanded by hand, before being poured. The scents are available in both painted distressed jars or smaller simple glass jars, so that they are able to fit into any decor.

During the photoshoot, all of the candles smelled so good that it was tempting to taste test each of them. We were assured that they were safe to eat, not that we actually would, because they are non-toxic. We managed to resist!
