We are going on a trip to Homewood.
Homewood is the Palladian/Federal style mansion built and offered as a wedding gift in 1800 by Charles Carroll of Carrollton, (1737-1832), the longest surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence, to his son Charles Carroll, Jr. When built, it cost $40,000, four times the budgeted expense to complete the estate. Charles Carroll, Sr. was the longest surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence.
The Homewood Mansion is located on the campus of Johns Hopkins University’s Homewood Campus in Charles Village.
